LOL, this is pretty horrifying. This is my face, completely sans makeup plus Brazened Honey facemask from Lush. I smell like fresh flowers and my face feels like a baby butt. Maybe not as cute, though!

  1. Everyone is obsessed with Lush, but I think it all smells weird (patchouli, anyone?) and has strange textures. And it's way too expensive. I don't get it. Explain it to me?

  2. I'm really weird about my skin & my hair (my skin because it's combination oily/dry, which is a big pain to deal with because it requires two different kinds of cleansers typically, and my hair because it's amazing and I'd like to keep it that way). I like that all of Lush's products are made from natural ingredients and have expiration dates, which proves to me that they're not chalk-full of chemical preservatives that have never encountered human bodies before labs came up with them. They're expensive, yeah, but so far they're seeming to last for a decent amount of time and they do amazing things for me. My face has been the softest and most cooperative it's been in a long time, and my hair is squeaky clean and easy to manage (I use their salt-shampoo and conditioner). I don't mind the smells of their products, either. They aren't overpowering when you actually use them (though they smell strong in the bottles/jars) and they linger really well. I can still [faintly] smell my shampoo from my shower last night. I don't know, I just like the idea of getting my skin/hair-care products from a smaller, lesser-known entity. I guess it's my strange version of supporting small(ish) business over corporate giants?
